Director of Photography specializing in cinematic, emotionally driven visuals for fiction, documentary and premium branded content.
A graduate of the Łódź Film School (PWSFTviT).
Mateusz works across fiction and documentary. His recent and upcoming feature projects include Small Gods (Sovereign & Scala), premiering at the Cornwall Film Festival 2025, and The Duty / BORC, currently in post-production for Baku Media Center. He also co-shot Prześwit / Clearing, selected for the Warsaw Film Festival 2024.
In documentary filmmaking, he collaborates regularly on international productions. His work includes the feature documentary Steps into Silence (Drygas Film Production / PISF), premiering in January 2026, and the acclaimed The Last One / Sonuncu, screened at Rotterdam IFF and nominated for Best Cinematography at Camerimage 2021. As a director, he created the mid-length documentary Ten Ostatni / The One Last Challenge and multiple narrative shorts as a student (including "Dreaming of Warsaw" and "Manticore")
His short-form projects are also widely recognized. As both director and cinematographer, he made Dreaming of Warsaw, which won Best Film at the Toronto Polish Film Festival, the Grand Prix at Cinemaiubit (Bucharest), and was nominated for Best Cinematography at Camerimage 2017. His newest short, as a cinematographer, Granica / The Border, brought him the PSC Jan Machulski Award for Best Cinematography (CINEMAFORUM 2025) and multiple nominations that same year.
